This week-long program is designed for existing fiduciaries to augment their skills. In addition to classroom instruction, students will participate in small group case studies.
The program is designed and delivered by a prestigious group of trust professionals, including prominent bankers, attorneys and industry experts who are on the leading edge of change. Curriculum

The ABA Intermediate Trust School curriculum builds on the ABA Foundational Trust School curriculum. It consists of a residential five-day sessions and includes the latest advanced strategies in:

  • Investment Management

Who Should Attend

Attendees must have graduated from the ABA Trust School – Foundational or a qualified regional trust school, have a minimum of three years of trust experience, plus evidence of working knowledge or formal education in Account Administration, Fiduciary Law & Compliance, Tax & Estate Planning, Personal Financial Planning and Investment Management.

Send a team of two or more employees and take advantage of the following team discounts:

  • 2-3 attendees receive a 5% tuition discount

Tuition Fees

2017 Fees: $2,495 ABA Members, $3,495 Non-Members (2018 fees available soon)
Fees include tuition, lunch, breaks and instructional materials. Housing is an additional $199/night (+ tax) paid directly to the Emory Conference Center Hotel upon checkout.

Hotel Reservations and Deadlines
The ABA Trust Schools will be held at the Emory Conference Center Hotel, located at 1615 Clifton Road, Atlanta, GA 30329 (Tel: 404-712-6000). Students should plan to arrive at the hotel Sunday, September 23, in time for registration (10:30 am- 12:30 pm). Orientation begins at 12:30 pm. Students should plan to depart after classes adjourn on Friday, September 298 at approximately 11:30 am. The CTFA exam will be offered on Saturday, September 29, from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm.

Mention the ABA National or Graduate Trust School to get the discounted rate of $199/night (+tax) for single occupancy per night. All reservations as well as changes in arrival, departure, type of accommodations, or cancellations must be made directly with the hotel. In the last two years, the conference center sold out!  Please complete your registration and make your hotel reservation early for the 2018 session to avoid disappointment.

The hotel rate extended to participants of the ABA Trust Schools is an ABA negotiated rate.  This rate is inclusive of other school-related services, full breakfasts, dinners and class events.  If you book a room at Emory through a travel agent or other means at a lower rate, you will be billed an additional rate for school-related services extended to you onsite as part of the ABA program.

Graduation Criteria
Students who complete this program earn the ABA Intermediate Trust School certificate.
Students who complete the Intermediate and Advanced Trust Schools, as well as the independent research program, earn the ABA Trust Schools diploma.

Continuing Education Credits
The ABA Intermediate Trust School curriculum has been approved for continuing education credits.

In addition to earning credits, the School can be a component of your preparation for the Institute of Certified Bankers (ICB) Certified Trust & Financial Advisor (CTFA) exam. The exam is offered onsite on Saturday, September 29 from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm. . Please contact ICB for details, or visit the ICB website.

*Please Note, the ABA Trust Schools consistently graduate students with heightened levels of expertise who are recognized as professionals and leaders within the trust industry. This training covers many topics often tested on the CTFA exam. However, the sole purpose of the School is not CTFA preparation and courses cover valuable content not directly tested on the CTFA exam.
