Bank Security

Bank security continues to hold center stage on NYBA's agenda.  NYBA and its Bank Security Task force have addressed issues ranging from ATM 911 buttons to bank robberies.  NYBA continues to work closely with legislators at the state and local levels and with law enforcement to ensure the safety of banks' customers and employees.

n  The Treasury Department announced that it would not add additional restrictions to an 
    anti-money laundering rule which implements Section 326 of the USA Patriot Act regarding 
    customer identification practices.  The rule is scheduled to take effect October 1, 2003.
