Overview

A Commitment to Professional Development

In today's economic environment, it is more important than ever to provide your employees with the skills and knowledge needed to navigate through challenging times.  According to a recent Wall Street Journal article, many companies are "renewing their focus on employee training, betting that strong managers will help them through the recovery."

The New York Bankers Association has had a long-standing commitment to providing its members with timely, high quality, cost-effective lifelong learning.  Through a comprehensive program of schools, seminars, courses, conferences and workshops offered in flexible delivery formats, NYBA can help bankers at every level develop their professional and technical skills.

As your Local ABA Training Provider, NYBA is also pleased to offer the entire American Institute of Banking continuing education curriculum.  AIB's curriculum includes more than 150 titles on a range of banking topics.  These programs are available as stand-alone courses to meet a student's immediate needs or as building blocks that allow a student to earn
AIB diplomas and certificates. And, it is now easier than ever to take advantage of the AIB curriculum through instructor-led and self-paced online training.

At a time when firms across the state are looking to contain costs, NYBA programs offer:

  • lower in-state travel expense

  • flexible delivery options - from traditional classroom events to in-bank delivery options, including online courses, webinars, telebriefings, training guides and instructor manuals

  • lower registration fees than comparable national programs

  • content focused on the needs and concerns of New York bankers

  • new ideas to improve business practices

  • a wide array of career development opportunities

  • an updated framework for decision-making skills

  • many opportunities for peer networking and exchange.

And, remember that member dollars spent on NYBA education represent not only an investment in your people but also an investment in the missions and goals of the Association.  It's a win-win strategy.  We encourage you to give us a call to discuss your professional development needs.

"An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest."   - Benjamin Franklin
