BUILDING TRUST EXPERTISE - TRUST ADMINISTRATION

Course Description: 
This course provides an overview of trust administration for personal trusts, and teaches students to use common trust terminology appropriately.  Students will learn trust basics, including terminology and concepts and gain an understanding of why clients benefit from trusts, as well as common types of personal trusts.  The course also covers account acceptance and termination, and discretionary distributions.

Audience:  New Trust Administrators and Trust Associates

Learning Objectives:  After completing this course, students will be able to:

  • Explain how property ownership impacts trusts.

  • Explain basic trust concepts and terminology.

  • Discuss personal trusts.

  • Describe account acceptance and termination procedures.

  • Explain the considerations for discretionary distributions.
