Course Description: Asset
allocation is the process of deciding how an investment portfolio should be
distributed among different asset classes. With the onset of computer
technology, asset allocation has moved beyond the traditional view of
diversification. Sophisticated investors are able to process huge
amounts of historical performance data that enables them to construct
optimal portfolios. This course looks at the importance of asset
allocation and the role of diversification in creating market efficient
portfolios. The course also overviews the different types of assets in
investment strategies that support modern portfolio management.
